Adoption information on Della

Della is a very sweet 2 1/2-year-old black and tan girl with a gorgeous face and a beautiful coat. She came to rescue a bit overweight but we are working on getting those extra pounds off. The vet did find that she has Grade III patellar luxations in both knees; however, Della has absolutely no problem getting around and does not seem to be in any pain -- in fact, she races around the fenced yard with her foster brothers and sisters! We are hopeful that getting her down to a more appropriate weight might prevent her from suffering any more serious problems with her knees in the future.

Della is a little shy but is coming around well. She would probably do best with a fenced yard and with older or very respectful children. She gets along great with all of the other dogs in her foster home. Her new family will need to be vigilant about keeping Della's weight under control.
